The Village Belle is an old-fashioned sea-shanty singalong. I wrote the song in Toronto of all places, sitting at the same kitchen table where I had written Hand Over My Heart in 2010. It's a twisted melody that made writing the words a bit of a puzzle but I guess I was in the mood for a challenge that day!
